Norton & Chartier play Thursday

Jim Chartier, left, and Rob Norton, perform Thursday at Music in the Park in Norway.

NORWAY — Music in the Park continues Thursday as the Iron Mountain-based duo Norton & Chartier performs for the third concert of the season.

The free summertime music series will continue at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at the bandshell in downtown Norway.

Norton & Chartier consists of Bob Norton and Jim Chartier. They have been performing as an acoustic duo for 17 years, and are both former members of the rock band Rockslide. They also front a full five-piece band, Norton, Chartier and Company.

“We have been blessed to have awesome wives, families and friends that have always supported us and our playing for all these years” Norton said. “We still have fun every time we get on stage and we look forward to playing in Norway.”

Norton & Chartier perform a mixture of classic easy rock music from the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s, and they’ll bring a fun show to the bandshell Thursday.

“We hope folks that come into Iron Mountain for this week’s Out to Lunch concert with Rebel Jane Unplugged, will enjoy the afternoon, have a nice dinner in the area and come on down to beautiful bandshell park for this our third free performance of this summer’s fabulous series,” event coordinator Carol Sundstrom said.

A windy but beautiful evening greeted the audience June 16 for the second Music in the Park concert of the 2022 season. Iron Daisy Acoustic performed, and the energetic duo was in top form.
