IRON MOUNTAIN -- Joe Santi's oil paintings will be featured at Art for All, set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at City Park in Iron Mountain.
Santi picked up a brush in elementary school and won first place at the Escanaba State Fair when he was in high school. He was awarded a $250 scholarship to Northern Michigan University.
Life happened and he picked up a mason's trowel instead and created fireplaces, chimneys and foundations. At a latter age, he began to paint again, taking art classes.
Santi is a perfect example that you are never too old to do what you love.
The art show will includes a vast array of art for sale, as well as musical entertainment.
There will be a "better than ever picnic" provided by Tadych's Foods and served by the Bishop Baraga Knights of Columbus.
A silent auction provides funds for an area senior art student.
There will be opportunities for those attending to win $50 to be spent at the art show. Drawings will be at 11 a.m., 1 and 2 p.m.
The event takes place rain or shine.
