Local TOPS group recognized

The awarded was given by TOPS State Coordinator Sharon McWethy and Area Coordinator Arlette Dubord at the Peter White Library in Marquette. Assistant Weight recorder Lorie Smeester accepted the certificate on behalf of the local chapter. TOPS MI 0277 meets every Wednesday, except holidays, at First Lutheran Church, 1210 S. Stephenson Ave. in Iron Mountain. Weigh-in is from 5 to 5:30 p.m., with the meeting to start at 5:30 p.m. TOPS — which stands for Take Off Pounds Sensibly — is the original, nonprofit weight-loss support and wellness education organization. They have approximately 100,00 members of all gender, from age 7 up, in thousands of chapters across the United States. TOPS promotes successful weight management with a “Real People. Real Weight Loss” philosophy that combines accountability and support from others at weekly chapter meetings, promoting healthy eating, portion control, regular exercise and wellness information.
