LST to present cabaret event

MARQUETTE — Beyond sustaining its programs, donations enable Lake Superior Theatre to aspire for more.

From productions that wow audiences to outreach programs that grow to meet the needs of the community, it is the partnership with donors that completes the financial resources necessary to fulfill the promise to LST patrons, cast and crew, and also to the greater community.

One such opportunity is coming up at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time on Friday as it produces a “Broadway Pays The Bills Cabaret” to celebrate live theater and the people who have always been at the heart of its productions.

A press release from the theater states: “LST music director Jeff Bruning, for example, was facing catastrophic unreimbursed medical expenses before he recently passed away. The celebration will present a wide variety of Broadway songs from shows for whom Jeff has made the music magic, and we invite you to join us for an incredible evening from seasoned performers who are among our LST favorites singing their way into your hearts to thank you. Following the cabaret, you will be treated to sips and sweets and an opportunity to mingle under the tent on a beautiful summer evening.

“The neon lights of Broadway are burning bright at the boathouse with special guests, singing, dancing and a load of fun. Make a donation to our special event and your thank-you letter will include your reserved seats. To maximize the contributions we are doing tickets through LST, so mail the donation to LST at 460 E. Ridge St., Marquette, MI 49855 or email lstmqt@gmail.com.”

Starting at $3.50/week.
