IRON MOUNTAIN -- The Braumart Theatre in Iron Mountain has announced its fall/winter classic movie lineup.
Seth Anderson, Braumart movie curator and board member, will be on hand before each movie to give a brief talk on interesting facts about each screening.
Schedule includes:
Saturday -- "Frankenstein," a 1931 cult classic, at 7 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 15 -- "The Nightmare Before Christmas," sponsored by Kenneth James Salon, at 2 p.m. They will have live, costumed characters from the movie and a drawing for movie-related prizes.
Sunday, Oct. 30 -- "Young Frankenstein," a 1974 film, at 7 p.m. This critical favorite and box-office hit is a comical parody of the classic horror film genre.
Saturday, Nov. 12 -- "Charade," sponsored by the Dickinson Area Community Foundation, a 1963 movie, at 7 p.m. An American romantic comedy praised by critics as "the best Hitchcock movie that he ever made." A delightful romp with Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn's sparkling chemistry at the center of perfectly orchestrated mayhem.
Thursday, Dec. 15 -- "The Holiday," presented the by Iron Mountain Downtown Development Authority, a 2006 film, at 7:30 p.m. A tale of two women, two houses and two love interests. Saturday, Dec. 17 -- "The Polar Express," presented by the Dickinson Area Community Foundation free of charge, at 2 p.m. The 2004 film takes you on a magical trip to the North Pole. The story is a widely considered to be a classic Christmas story. DACF provides free tickets, popcorn and candy canes. Live, costumed characters will be available for photos and will also feature a conductor ready to punch your train tickets. Names will be drawn for many movie-related prizes. Everyone is encouraged to come in pajamas for added fun.
Braumart's Classic Movie Series continues the building's legacy of wonderful community entertainment.
