Northern Lights Master Gardeners plant sale set

MARINETTE, Wis. — The annual Fall Plant Sale by the Northern Lights Master Gardeners Association will take place from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15, at Harmony Arboretum.

The plant sale will feature a wide selection of plants grown and donated by members of NLMGA. Plants at Harmony ready to be divided will also be available for sale and will be dug during the plant sale.

This year’s offerings include perennials, herbs, native plants, and house plants.

All proceeds go toward public educational programs and improvements to facilitate learning at Harmony Arboretum.

Many members of NLMGA will be available to provide insight into growing and designing outdoor living spaces, as well as recommend plants that would work in those spaces.

While at Harmony Arboretum, children and adults can take advantage of exploring the Children’s Learning Garden or admiring the demonstration gardens, the orchard, the prairie and Harmony hardwoods. Many nature and education programs appealing to children and adults are conducted throughout the spring, summer and fall months.

Northern Lights Master Gardeners maintain the Demonstration Gardens at Harmony Arboretum and conduct horticultural education programs for the public. The public is welcome to join the Northern Lights Master Gardeners Association to learn more about horticulture and to assist members in educating the public.

Harmony Arboretum is a 468-acre former “county farm” that has been developed into a conservation and horticulture education and demonstration area. It is always open to the public and free. Directions are 7 miles west of Marinette on Highway 64 or 10.5 miles from Highway 141 on Hwy 64; then .5 miles south on County E.

Starting at $3.50/week.
