The Luminae Trio to perform at the Crystal Theatre

CRYSTAL FALLS -- The final concert in Crystal Theatre's eight-event "Gem of a Season" series presents Luminae Trio at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22.
Based in New York City, Luminae Trio is committed to shining light on both traditional works and lesser known music of the past and present.
The award-winning trio has performed throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and South America. While they have played in many traditional settings including Carnegie Hall, Bruno Walter Auditorium, the United Nations and the Kennedy Center, they also enjoy playing in smaller settings and recently have produced live-streamed and recorded performances.
Individually, the musicians lead active performing and teaching careers.
A founding member of Luminae Trio, Jestin Pieper is a concert and collaborative pianist, vocal coach, organist, conductor, and educator. In addition to performing with Luminae, Pieper has made guest appearances on the Discovery Channel, WNYC and WNPR. He has a solo piano album, "Humoreske '' available on streaming services.
Pieper received his bachelor of music, magna cum laude, from Lawrence University, a master of music degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and a professional studies certificate from Manhattan School of Music. He is currently head of the collaborative department at Long Island University, Brooklyn and is assistant music director, assistant conductor at Chelsea Opera, and the music director and principal organist at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.
Pieper's proud grandparents, Al and Ruth Pieper, are residents of Crystal Falls.
Violinist Elizabeth Wright, co-founder of Luminae Trio, earned her bachelor of music degree from the University of Michigan and her master of music from the Manhattan School of Music. The winner of several prestigious awards in chamber music competitions, Wright currently performs with the Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra, the Bach Choir of Bethlehem, and spends summers performing and coaching at the Vermont Music and Arts Center.
Cellist Jacob Nordlinger has a passion for chamber music collaborations and, like Wright, has won several competitions for strings. Having completed his bachelor's degree in 2015, he joined the faculty of VerARte String Academy in Arequipa, Peru in 2017. Nordinger is currently pursuing his doctor of music degree at the University of Connecticut.
Luminae Trio formed during the COVID-19 pandemic, committed to keeping the arts alive during the challenging time. As the name implies, Luminae Trio illuminates and celebrates the works of both well-known and underrepresented composers.
