HANCOCK -- The staff at the Finnish American Heritage Center has announced the return of the highly-popular Nordic Film Series this month.
"It's been more than two years since we were last able to show a Nordic film," said FAHC Director David Maki. "The film series has proven to be immensely popular, and it's been 18 years since our first season, so we figured we would re-start the series by going back to our beginnings."
The first showing of the 2022-23 season will be at 2 p.m. Eastern time Wednesday with a screening of "Man Without a Past," the 2002 Academy Award nominee by acclaimed Finnish director Aki Kaurismaki.
The dark comedy follows a laborer who suffers a case of amnesia, and just as his life begins to make sense again, his past returns to haunt him.
The film is about 1 hour and 40 minutes long, and is in Finnish with English subtitles. It carries a PG-13 rating.
The showing is free and open to the public; donations are appreciated.
