IRON MOUNTAIN -- American Association of Business Women Lift Women UP Chapter will host a Christmas Celebration and Vendor Fair from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Fornetti Hall/Bay College West Campus in Iron Mountain.
Women ages 15 and older are welcome to join the chapter. This event is open to anyone wishing to learn more about the chapter. The group aims to help women connect with other women, gain confidence, and enhance skills. Membership will be discussed. Financial assistance is available to those who may need it.
American Association of Business Women Lift Women UP Chapter is a new networking opportunity for women in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and surrounding areas. Their meetings will be hybrid -- they can be joined in person or via Zoom from anywhere. Women need not be from the Upper Peninsula area to join.
ABWA is a women's networking organization designed to help women at all points in their careers. The mission of the American Business Women's Association is to bring together business women of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support and national recognition.
ABWA also partners with other organizations to promote important dates and events that will have a positive affect on women's lives, including:
-- The American Cities Business Journal. ACBJ hosts a Biz Mentoring Monday event in 43 different cities in the U.S. The event attracts more than 10,000 women nationwide each year. ABWA members are eligible for a discounted registration.
-- Membership in the Small Business Saturday Coalition, sponsored by American Express and Women Impacting Public Policy. Small Business Saturday promotes "shopping small." Small Business Saturday is the first Saturday after the Thanksgiving holiday.
-- Starr Women's Hall of Fame, Kansas City-based, recognizes women from the Kansas City area for their contributions to the community.
-- The American Business Women's Foundation, whose purpose is to educate women about issues and opportunities affecting parity in the workplace.
ABWA is committed to creating accessible, affordable, and innovative learning opportunities that will prepare women to respond to the challenges or opportunities they experience at any given moment in their careers.
As national members, women can choose from a diverse collection of online courses in ABWA's Apex Campus available 24/7. They welcome learners of all ages, educational backgrounds and career paths who are motivated to chart their learning journey.
