NORWAY — Mary Beth Thoreson, Norway-Vulcan Area Schools kindergarten through 12th grade librarian, recently received a mini-grant from Dickinson County’s chapter of Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel.

The $250 grant was used to purchase fiction and nonfiction graphic novels for the K-12 students.

“We are so excited at Norway-Vulcan Area Schools to be a recipient of this money,” Thoreson said. “The students and staff are anxious to check the graphic novels out, and I am happy to see so many readers. MARSP has made this wonderful gift possible, and we appreciate their generosity.”

MARSP, an organization of retired school personnel, is glad to help area teachers with projects through these mini-grants.
