Registration opens for 2023 Spring Garden Conference in Marinette

MARINETTE, Wis. — Does winter have you dreaming of the growing season? The 25th anniversary Spring Garden Conference in Marinette offers a day of learning and fun for gardeners of all skill levels.

Registration is now being accepted for the conference planned on Saturday, March 18, at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Marinette campus.

The cost is $40, which includes morning refreshments, four educational sessions, plus a lunch featuring homemade soup, sandwiches and dessert. Hands-on workshops will have an additional fee to cover materials.

The Northern Lights Master Gardeners Association Conference celebrates its 25th year of excellence in garden education with the one-day conference featuring sessions that cover a wide range of topics addressing a growing interest in backyard gardening.

Educational sessions cover a wide range of topics, such as using native pollinator plants in landscaping, seed saving, fundamentals of foraging, keeping honey bees, container flowers, growing mushrooms outdoors, pruning fruit trees and more. Conference speakers are Master Gardener volunteers and local experts.

Master Gardeners will also be on hand to answer gardening questions at the Ask a Master Gardener booth.

Brochures covering the sessions and registration are available at local libraries and partnering businesses. You can also find more information online including a link to the brochure at the Northern Lights Master Gardeners Association Facebook page.

Early registration is recommended, as many sessions and workshops fill rapidly.

Registration must be received with payment before March 6.

Northern Lights Master Gardeners Association Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides learning opportunities by helping communities better understand horticulture and the environment.

Many educational events are conducted at Harmony Arboretum in addition to other community locations.  Proceeds from this event are used for Harmony Arboretum Demonstration Garden maintenance and other educational programming.

The UW-Green Bay, Marinette Campus rents its facilities to outside organizations and groups and abides by UW System facilities usage policies and county property policies.
