IRON RIVER -- The Bates Hall Preservation Society has planned its summer fundraisers.
They will host their big rummage sale Friday and Saturday at the Bates Township Hall, 3070 E. U.S. 2 in Iron River. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. and will run to 2:30 p.m. each day.
New this year will be the Back Porch Eatery, offering food and refreshments for sale starting at 8 a.m.
Bates logo items will also be sold both days.
Anyone wishing to donate items can bring them to the hall from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today through Thursday. Those unable to make those times can schedule a time by calling 906-265-4771.
The society will also have a booth at Rodeo Market Days from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, July 7, on Genesee Street in Iron River. They will be offering Bates logo merchandise as well as a raffle for a face cord of dry firewood. Tickets are $2 each or three for $5.
The Preservation Society will be at the Main Street Cafe in Iron River on Saturday, July 15, to assist with the backyard barbecue, bake and logo sale.
The ongoing fundraisers are to help provide funding for the moving and renovation of the 1907 historic Bates Township Hall.
