IRON MOUNTAIN — Trinity United Methodist Church in Iron Mountain will host an open house in honor of the Rev. Geri Hamlen, Trinity’s pastor for the past nine years, from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Hamlen will be leaving Iron Mountain to serve at another United Methodist Church in Lexington, Mich.

“Pastor Hamlen has been an inspiration to Trinity and to the entire community. We hope this will be an opportunity for community members, as well as members of Trinity UMC, to thank her and wish her well. She has been involved in many different ways in our community,” a church spokesperson said.

Hamlen has said she has appreciated the support of Trinity United Methodist Church to serve in this area through Light at the Inn, Iron Mountain Clergy Association, Christians for Racial Understanding and the Homeless Housing Resource Group.

The church is at 808 Carpenter Ave. All are welcome.
