IRON MOUNTAIN — Mark Young and the Happy Enchiladas will be the featured entertainment at this month’s Third Thursday presented by Linnea & Kristine.

The trio of Young, Cal Coopman and Bob Arthur will perform a variety of music from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the Systems Control Stage in downtown Iron Mountain.

In addition to Linnea & Kristine, 20 other businesses will extend hours for the Iron Mountain Downtown Development Authority’s monthly event, set for 4 to 7 p.m.

Those participating this month, along with their hours, can be found on the DDA’s Facebook page at “Downtown Iron Mountain.”

“Third Thursdays were created to get foot traffic within the vibrant downtown businesses,” DDA Event Coordinator Kenzie Williamsen said. “We encourage the community to come support the local shops and restaurants and enjoy the rest of the evening at the stage.”

Shoppers again will be able to earn raffle tickets at participating businesses from 4 to 7 p.m. With Linnea & Kristine being the major sponsor, store patrons will receive three raffle tickets that evening.

To enter the drawings at 7:30 p.m., tickets need to be at the downtown stage by 7:20 p.m.

“This month we have local gift cards to award to the winners,” Williamsen said.

She also noted there will be no 50-50 drawing during the evening event, only during the Out to Lunch program.

No food vendors will be at the stage area for this month’s activities, but attendees are encouraged to visit the downtown eateries.

The Dickinson County Library will have a booth set up near the stage area for children’s activities.

Next month, the DDA plans to have a “Block Party” in front of Sol Blu on Ludington Street in Iron Mountain.

Third Thursday will conclude in November with “Girls Night Out.”

Businesses can sign up to participate in Third Thursday by going to the DDA Facebook page or emailing Williamsen at events@downtownironmountain.com.
