ESCANABA — Bay College recently earned Gold Level Veteran-Friendly Status for the 2023-24 academic year from the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency.

This Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency program recognizes academic institutions committed to supporting the needs of veterans and military-connected students. Gold level is the highest level of recognition that can be achieved by a higher education institution.

Bay College officials said this demonstrates Bay College’s continued dedication to providing outstanding service to active military students, veteran students, and related family members.

Bay College has earned this status by establishing a number of veteran services, including identifying veterans at application, a veteran-specific website, an on-campus veteran’s coordinator, a system to evaluate and award academic credit for military training and experience, and much more.

Those who are active military, a veteran or a family member of a veteran can find support at Bay College as they look to start or continue their education.
