Quilt Show Extravaganza and Craft Show entry deadline today

IRON MOUNTAIN -- Today is the deadline to enter quilts in the Wild Rivers Quilt Guild's has Quilt Show Extravaganza and Craft Sale, set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 29-30 at the Pine Mountain Ski and Golf Resort in Iron Mountain.
A separate registration form is required for each entry and is available along with all rules of the contest for download at www.wildriversquiltguild.org. -- Quilt Show Tab -- look for Quilt Entry Registration.
They will accept home-sewn quilts in good condition, new or old, and are particularly interested in vintage quilts that are 25 to 100 years old and antique quilts of 100-plus years or more.
"Your creativity, or that of your mother's back to your great-great-grandmother, along with the story of the quilt's history, will be enjoyed by all who attend," said Jackie Lehto of Wild Rivers Quilt Guild.
New quilts entered will be hung to be viewed, while vintage and antique quilts will be viewed in bed-turning events throughout Friday and Saturday.
Entrants who are not current members of the Wild Rivers Quilt Guild must submit: $10 exhibitor fee for one quilt; $15 for two quilts and $20 for a third or fourth quilts. No more than four quilts may be entered by a non-member.
Quilt entry registration checks should be made payable to Wild Rivers Quilt Guild and entry forms mailed to Wild Rivers Quilt Guild, Attn: Jackie Lehto at P.O. Box 502, Florence, WI 54121.
Cash prizes will be award in four categories -- category 1: bed quilts (twin to king size) traditionally pieced; category 2: bed quilts (twin to king size) mixed construction techniques; category 3: lap/wall quilts/small projects; category 4: vintage/antique quilt.
All awards given will be based solely on viewers' choice votes: best of show, $100 (only one quilt will receive this designation); first place in each category, $50 plus vendor gift/certificate valued at $25; second place in each category $25 plus vendor gift/certificate valued at $25; and third place in each category vendor gift/ certificate valued at $25.
