Wild Rivers Quilt Guild plans bus trip to attend Great Wisconsin Quilt Show

FLORENCE, Wis. — Wild Rivers Quilt Guild has contracted with Elite Limousine of Escanaba for a bus trip to the Great Wisconsin Quilt Show, set for 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, in Madison, Wis.

The motor coach bus will pick attendees up in Iron Mountain at 6 a.m. at the Super One-Midtown Mall parking lot and then continue to Florence, Wis. to pick up at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at 6:30 a.m., as well as at the Gold Harvest Market about 7:45 a.m. in Rhinelander, Wis. They will return about 11 p.m.

“If you have never been to the Madison Expo, it is the premier quilt show in our area,” organizer Jackie Lehto said.

Hundreds of beautiful quilts are on display and an entire mall-size room is filled with many, many vendors — more than 100 — from across the Midwest to make shopping fun. Classes will be available that attendees can register to take if the time works out.

To learn more about the show, quilt contest, classes, vendor mall and more, go to the event’s website at https://quiltshow.com/.

The cost for the bus trip and admission to the show is $70 per person. For cancellations before Aug. 15, up to $10 of the remittance will be non-refundable, depending on the number registering to cover the guild’s non-refundable deposit to reserve the bus. No refund will be provided after Aug. 15 for any reason, but spots may be sold to others.

“We believe that we will fill up the bus quickly. With the cost of gas and the travel time involved, this is a very good price to take the trip, and what fun. You will get to relax and visit with friends all the way to and from Madison. We will stop at restaurants so that you can buy breakfast and dinner after the show. Also, the bus is equipped with a restroom on board,” Lehto said.

The $70 fee can be paid in two ways. A check payable to Wild Rivers Quilt Guild can be mailed to P.O. Box 502, Florence, WI 54121. A credit card payment also can be done online at the guild’s website — https://wildriversquiltguild.org/ — via Square, a safe, reliable means to pay that can be found under the “It’s a Date!” heading.

While on the website, check out the Wild Rivers Quilt Guild programs/workshops coming up or look at the classes or appraisals available at the guild’s upcoming Quilt Show set for Sept. 29-30.
