IRON MOUNTAIN -- Upcoming events at the Dickinson County Library in November include:
-- Acorn Painting Kits: Available at all sites starting today, while supplies last.
Adults and teens from ninth through 12th grade can inquire at the circulation desk at their local library for a fun, festive acorn-painting kit. Limit of one kit per household.
-- The Dickinson County Library Board meeting will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.
-- Shh…Out! 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.
Create a tie-dye bag and enjoy some snacks at this month's meeting. This program is for all teens in ninth through 12th and is a welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ teens and allies to just be themselves. Therapy dogs Azul and Maverick will also be in attendance. No registration is required.
-- Solomonson Branch Book Club: 2 p.m. Thursday at the Solomonson Branch in Norway.
Adults are invited to discuss this month's selection, "We Gather Together" by Denise Kiernan. New members are always welcome to attend the book club.
-- Dino Dig Day: 5 to 6 p.m. Friday at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.
Dino Dig Day will be filled with dinosaur-themed activities for children from early kindergarten through fifth grade. Early kindergarten to second graders can dig through sand to find dino fossils. Third- to fifth-grade kids will have excavating tools and slabs of sand mixture that they can do a more advanced digging with. Hatch a dinosaur from magic dino eggs, make a fossil out of salt dough, play a dinosaur tracks identification game and work together to make a dino skeleton out of toilet paper rolls. Activity packets will be available to take home.
-- Lego Club Jr: 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.
Calling all budding engineers. Kindergarten through second-grade kids will be challenged to build football or Thanksgiving-related items.
-- Gamers' Club: 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, at the Solomonson Branch in Norway; 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the North Dickinson Branch in Felch Township; and 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.
Video game enthusiasts in third through eighth grades are invited to play a variety of video and board games at this fun monthly program.
