FLORENCE, Wis. -- Winter in Florence, a free event, will be noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Wild River Interpretive Center, 5638 Forestry Drive in Florence.
Mac Winker, a master ice sculptor and Hall of Fame ice carver from Memphis, Tenn., will give an ice sculpture demonstration. He is the author of three books on ice carving.
He will sculpt from 1 to 4 p.m. at the visitor center. The public is invited to bring blankets and chairs to watch.
They will serve hot chocolate, warm cider and fresh cookies. A gift wrapping station will also be available. There will be family crafts and other events are planned.
The center will host Men's Night -- One Stop Shop from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 14. There will gift wrapping, snacks and drawings for gift baskets and merchandise.
