IRON MOUNTAIN — The Greater Iron Mountain Area MLS Realtors are starting off 2024 with their first $500 donation to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church to support the Backpacks for Kids meals program.

Coldwell Banker Real Estate Group selected the non-profit organization as they saw the need in the community to keep this program going when they heard they were experiencing some financial trouble that may force them to shut down.

Each week, brown paper bags are filled with two breakfasts, two lunches and two dinners, along with snacks and drinks.

Backpacks for Kids pack a total of 56 bags a week from the start of the school year until the last day.

The Greater Iron Mountain Area MLS consists of over 100 Realtors in Dickinson, Iron, and Menominee Counties in Michigan along with Florence and Marinette Counties in Wisconsin. The MLS is a database of homes for sale. When real estate agents list a property for sale, they add it to the MLS database, allowing all agents and brokers who have access to the system to review the listing. Buyers’ agents use the MLS to find homes to show clients. The information listed on the MLS includes photos and detailed descriptions of the homes for sale. Realtors and brokers pay membership dues to access their local MLS.
