Author to be at Florence library

ROD SADLER

FLORENCE, Wis. — True crime author Rod Sadler will give a presentation at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, at the Florence County Library.

Sadler, a seasoned law enforcement veteran with a three-decade career, retired in mid-Michigan in 2012. His insatiable curiosity and relentless pursuit of justice led him to embark on an award-winning writing career. He is now the author of several books.

After returning to college late in his law enforcement career, he discovered his love for writing, and he decided to write about what he knows best … true crime.

He began researching his first book after discovering the story of a brutal 1897 murder in Williamston, Mich., a town where he had spent his childhood.

His great-grandfather was the sheriff at the time of the murder, and he was integral part of the investigation.

His 2020 true crime book “Killing Women: The True Story of Serial Killer Don Miller’s Reign of Terror” has become the backdrop for two True Crime Network documentaries.

His books feature an enormous amount of research into the murders he writes about. His attention to detail allows him to craft intriguing, detailed accounts of a series of Michigan murders.

“Come out and enjoy meeting this interesting author,” said Stephanie Weber, library director.

Light snacks and refreshments will be served.
