The Knights of Columbus in the Marquette Diocese concluded its 2024 Diocesan Free Throw Contest at the Negaunee Middle School. Boys and girls ages 9 through 14 who previously won their council and district competitions held throughout the Upper Peninsula participated in the event. The winners shot an additional 25 free throws that were recorded and submitted to the state competition in Mount Pleasant. Two Marquette Diocese athletes emerged as Michigan State Champions. Aubrie Moore of Kingsford won the girls age 14 division and boys age 12 division winner was Blake Sullivan of Ishpeming.
