Niagara Public Library announces summer schedule

NIAGARA, Wis. — The Niagara Public Library invited individuals of all ages to head out on an adventure of learning, connection, and fun for the annual summer library program.

With the theme “Adventure Begins at Your Library,” this year’s program is set to inspire kindness, foster friendship, and celebrate unity within the community.

Scheduled every Tuesday afternoon at 1 pm, from June 4 to Aug. 13, the program promises an adventure-filled lineup of family-friendly activities and events at the pavilion in Heights Park. Nestled amidst the beauty of nature, participants will have the opportunity to engage in intergenerational programming, where different generations can come together, share stories, and form lasting friendships.

The scheduled includes:

— June 4: Kick off the summer library program with a burst of creativity. Those who attend can create homemade musical instruments, then hit the park for a vibrant parade of sound and joy.

— June 11: Track Tales — Fasten your seatbelt and get set for a wild adventure as real race car drivers dish out the dirt on their high-speed adventures from the track.

— June 18: Woodsy Dude Adventure — Discover survival secrets, embrace nature, and supercharge family connections like never before. Get ready for an adventure-packed event that’ll leave you craving more outdoor thrills.

— June 25: Aquatic Creepy Critters Exploration — Dig into the underwater world and discover the secrets of aquatic habitats, as they explore the Menominee River’s plant materials to find small creatures like insects, snails, mussels, worms, larvae, and fish.

— July 2: Bats Bonanza — Unravel the secrets of these nocturnal superheroes and learn why these winged wonders are essential for our environment, from pollinating flowers to controlling insect populations.

— July 9: Mid-Summer Splash — Cool off with a bunch water fun.

— July 16: Nature Games — A variety of fun nature games and activities to help kids learn about concepts like habitat, adaptations, wildlife, populations, and more. And it includes a visit from Smokey Bear.

— July 23: Tractors — Get ready for a farm-tastic time. Explore the world of tractors and agricultural wonders.

— July 30: Rock Painting — Unleash your creativity. After delightful stories about rock painting, patrons can create their own painted masterpieces.

— August 6: Trucks – Join them for an exploration of trucks and big vehicles. A perfect event for little adventurers fascinated by the world of transportation.

— Aug 13: End of Summer Party — Join them for the end of summer party, filled with water fun and laughter.

“We love having a platform where people from ages 1 to 101 can come together and experience summer fun and connect with one another,” says Rebecca Livick, librarian. “Our goal is to create a space where kindness is celebrated and friendships are formed.”

From interactive storytelling sessions to creative arts and crafts activities, each Tuesday afternoon promises to be filled with laughter, learning, and unforgettable moments. Participants can expect a diverse range of programming designed to cater to the interests and needs of all age groups.

The Niagara Public Library provides accessible resources, fostering lifelong learning, and promoting community engagement. Through programs and services, including the Summer Library Program, the library aims to make reading an exciting adventure for all ages. Participants in the reading portion of the program have the chance to win exciting prizes while embarking on a journey of literary exploration.
