FLORENCE, Wis. — The Florence County Historical Society hosted a Veterans Recognition event at the museum June 15.

Veterans and their families from the VFW, American Legion and Florence community visited the museum, paying special attention to the veterans displays designated for military items.

Artifacts as far back as the Civil War and continuing to more recent conflicts are on display. New exhibits of past celebrations and hunting camps, along with the logging and mining areas, allowed visitors a view into the history and activities of the county.

After their visit to the museum, guests were treated to a luncheon at the nearby Judge House. The lunch was provided by Rachel and Don Egelseer, supporters of the historical society.

Thank you to all veterans and visitors who attended the recognition event at the museum. The museum at 201 Florence Ave. is open from 10 a.m. to noon Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and welcome visitors to come and learn the county’s history.

Starting at $2.99/week.
