Iceland presentation planned Saturday in Florence
Gullfoss Waterfall
FLORENCE, Wis. — Larry Warren will give a presentation on Iceland at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Florence County Library in Florence.
Larry, and his wife, Chris Warren, along with their granddaughter traveled to Iceland in July. They experienced the wonders of the tiny volcanic island and people.
He will show pictures and videos during his talk.
The community is invited to come and experience glaciers, volcanoes, waterfalls, thermal springs, Icelandic horses and goats.
He will also educate about trolls, fairies and the hidden folk, and how the people of this island live with 95% of their energy coming from renewable sources.
Attendees may even learn to pronounce the name of Eyjafjallajokull, the volcano under a glacier that erupted in 2010.
That eruption sent ash 7 miles into the atmosphere, shut down air traffic in Europe and brought worldwide attention to Iceland.
Light snacks and refreshments will be served at the presentation.
