Mixologist to be at Dickinson County Library
IRON MOUNTAIN — The Dickinson County Library will host Michigan author Angie Jackson from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at the library in Iron Mountain.
Jackson, known as the “Traveling Elixir Fixer,” is a master culinary mixologist, branch consultant and author. In her 25-year career, she has designed and executed award-winning beverage programs for Chicago’s top bars and restaurants, numerous Midwest distilleries, national distributors, as well as global brands and celebrities.
“We are excited to welcome Angie to the Dickinson County Library,” Emily Cummings said. “Her focus on farm-to-table experiences paired with her expertise in grain distillation, wildcrafted elixirs, herbalism, and foraging really makes this an exceptional program to offer our community.”
This program for adults includes an alcohol-free elixir featured in Jackson’s book, “Drink the Wild: Recipes from the Apothecary of a Kitchen Witch for the Spirited and Sober Soul.” Books will also be available for purchase and signing.
This program is sponsored by the Iron Mountain-Kingsford Women’s Club and Dr. Dale and Lucy Shampo.
Founded in 1967, the Dickinson County Library has three locations in Dickinson County — the main library in Iron Mountain, the Solomonson Branch in Norway and the North Dickinson Branch in the North Dickinson County School building in Felch Township.
