Winners picked for Florence Historical Society raffle
FLORENCE, Wis. — For the past 14 years, the Florence County Historical Society has hosted a raffle in to help raise funds for the preservation of county artifacts, picture collection and new exhibits.
Joan Spears recently drew the winning tickets for each of the prizes, which were on display during the annual Quilt Show and at the museum throughout the summer.
Over the years, Spears has designed, made and donated many beautiful quilts to the historical society as its grand prize.
The historical society thanks Spears for supporting the society and museum.
This year’s winners were: quilt, Carol Pietsch; rug, Karen Podnar; cutting board, Lea Boukidis; quilted bag, Lisa Gaston; two mugs, Char Scott; hanging planter, Kelsey Gelhar; red bird house, Sarah Smith; bluebird house, Linda Dillman; and hummingbird feeder, Elaine Florio.
In addition to Spears, they also acknowledge those individuals who have donated prizes to this year’s raffle, including Patti Gehlhoff, Mary Brunette, Donnette Salczenko, Ryan and Katie Gehlhoff, Matt Dagostino and Don Sjoquist.
The museum, at 201 Florence Ave. in Florence, will close for the season at noon Saturday.
The organization works through the winter developing new exhibits, collection photos and helping with research.
