Hart appointed director of Bonifas Arts Center

CHELSEA HART

Escanaba –The Bonifas Arts Center has appointed Chelsea Hart as the new executive director.

Hart brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective that aligns with the center’s mission to enhance and inspire the cultural and creative life of the community.

With more than six years of experience in the nonprofit sector, working with AmeriCorps, Boy Scouts of America, and other various organizations, she brings a wealth of knowledge.

In her past role as a development director at the Cradle of Liberty Council in Philadelphia, she successfully supported various fundraising events, lead their direct mail campaign, and been a vital piece in their donor cultivation process.

These experiences have equipped her with the leadership skills, strategic mindset, and operational expertise necessary to effectively lead the William Bonifas Arts Center in achieving its goals.

She was particularly drawn to this role because of the focus on the local artists and sharing their work with everyone in the community.

And it has a particularly special place in her heart because when she was in high school some of her own artwork was featured there.

“I am thrilled to join the Bonifas team and to work alongside such a dedicated group of staff and volunteers,” Hart said. “Together, we will build on the organization’s strengths and pursue innovative strategies to enhance our impact in the community.”

Hart has a bachelor of science from Northern Michigan University, with a major in human-centered design and a minor in computer information systems. She is passionate about serving her community no matter where she plants herself. Growing up she was involved in Girls Scouts and 4-H and her family has always been focused on public service.

As executive director, Hart will foster collaboration and engagement among staff, volunteers, and the community. She is committed to creating an open and inclusive environment where everyone’s voice is heard.

To facilitate a smooth transition, she has been meeting with staff, volunteers, and key community members in the coming weeks. Everyone is encouraged to share their ideas and feedback as she begins this new chapter with the Bonifas Arts Center.
