Community Scanning Day at the Dickinson County Library
IRON MOUNTAIN — The Dickinson County Library will host a Community Scanning Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the main Dickinson County Library in downtown Iron Mountain.
A community scanning day allows patrons to preserve their history by bringing in photos, documents, and memorabilia for digital scanning. Scanned items can be put on a flash drive or sent to an email.
“We are grateful to the library of Michigan for lending us the digitization kit that will be used to scan, preserve, and save the items attendees bring in,” said Emily Cummings, local history/adult programming coordinator, adding they provide this service to all Michigan libraries free of charge.
Dickinson County Library staff will be available to assist with using the equipment.
Registration is required for this program and begins Saturday; call 906-774-1218 to sign up for a 30-minute time slot. Space is limited.
For more information on upcoming programs, go to the library’s website at www.dcl-lib.org or call 906-774-1218.
