IRON MOUNTAIN — Dickinson County Library activities and events for November include —

— Fall for Reading Storytime Sessions: 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. today and Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain; 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Friday at the North Dickinson Branch in Felch Township; and 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at the Solomonson Branch in Norway.

“Fall for Reading” at the autumn-themed storytime sessions for kids through age 5 and their caregivers. These programs include books, songs, activities, and a craft to build early literacy and create lifelong readers. No registration is required.

— Community Scanning Day: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.

This program for adults allows the public to bring in photos, documents and memorabilia for digital scanning using scanning equipment from the Library of Michigan. Scanned items can be put on a flash drive or sent by email. Staff will be available for assistance using the equipment. Registration is required; call 906-774-1218 to sign up for a 30-minute time slot. Space is limited.

— Sensory-friendly movie, “Migration”: 10 a.m. Saturday at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.

This PG movie will be shown without previews, lights on and attendees can use Bluetooth headphones, to adjust their own volume and block out the noise in the room. Snacks, juice and fidgets provided. The movie is sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Registration is required; call 906-774-1218 to sign up. Space is limited.

— Book Club-Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the Iron Mountain location.

Adults are invited to discuss the Michigan Notable Book, “The Waters” by Bonnie Jo Campbell. New members are always welcome.

— Lego Club: 3:15 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the North Dickinson Branch in Felch Township.

Build yourself up at Lego Club. The program for kids in kindergarten through eighth grade, offers the opportunity to be creative while building with Legos. This month, participants will be challenged to build a turkey out of Legos, then attach the turkey to a zipline to see how fast it will go. No registration is required.

— Board meeting: 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain. The public is welcome to attend.

— Write On! Writers Group: 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.

Adults and teens are invited to join the writer’s group that focuses on providing an encouraging and supportive space for all types of writers. This month, participants will celebrate in National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo! NaNoWriMo-inspired prompts will be shared, or attendees may choose to work on their own projects. No registration is required.

— Bow Wows and Books: 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.

Patrons of all ages and reading abilities can practice reading aloud to therapy dogs: Roz, a golden retriever; Azul, a Siberian husky mix; Belle, a black Lab mix; and Angel, a teddy bear. Reading to therapy dogs can boost a child’s confidence in reading. Required registration begins Wednesday; call 906-774-1218 to sign up for a 15-minute time slot with any or all four dogs.

— The Graveyard Shift Book Club: 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.

This new book club is perfect for teens and adults who love to read true crime, horror and/or books with supernatural elements. This month, discuss “One of Us is Lying” by Karen McManus. Discussion packets will be available at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain. No registration is required.

— Bow Wows and Books: 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the Solomonson Branch in Norway.

— Christmas Crafts at the Felch Community Center: 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at W4243 M-69 in Felch Township.

After the center’s community dinner, anyone ages 5 through adults can join the Dickinson County Library for craft making. No registration is required.
