KINGSFORD -- Kingsford High School senior Libby Vross has been selected by her school as this year's National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Representative for the Onagomingkway Chapter. She is the daughter of Michael and Lorrie Vross of Iron Mountain.
The DAR Good Citizenship Award is presented to one student at KHS based on the qualities of dependability (truthfulness, loyalty and punctuality), service (cooperation, courtesy and consideration of others), leadership (personality, self-control and ability to assume responsibility), and patriotism (unselfish interest in family, school, community and nation) to an outstanding degree. Vross strives to embody these qualities through her leadership.
She demonstrates a strong academic record and is actively involved in extracurricular activities. She has achieved a respectable grade-point average while taking dual enrollment courses, volunteering, and participating in a variety of school clubs and sports. Vross is a Kingsford High School student ambassador, a KHS National Honor Society member, a member of Key Club, a student council representative, member of the varsity tennis team, captain of the varsity soccer team, treasurer of Flivver Family. She has accumulated about 485 hours of community service and is an active member at the First Presbyterian Church of Kingsford.
"I feel I exhibit the four qualities of the DAR Good Citizen because I have a solid reputation with my teachers, coaches, and the administration. They all know that if they ask me to do something, I will complete it to the best of my ability. People do not have to ask me to do something twice. A small sacrifice of my time and talents can make a huge impact in someone else's life. That's why I take the time to help and serve others. I avoid drama, stay true to myself, and have created many wholesome and enjoyable memories at Kingsford High School," Vross said.

Libby exemplifies the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism, shining as a role model in her school, community, and home. Libby's teachers, classmates, and the Kingsford High School administration have recognized her to possess all of those qualities at the highest level. Her accomplishments and dedication leave a lasting impression at Kingsford High School, inspiring peers and setting a high standard for future generations. We are incredibly proud of her achievements and look forward to seeing the positive impact she will continue to make," said David Lindbeck, Kingsford High School principal.
Vross plans to attend a college or technical school next fall to study culinary arts.
