KHS class makes ‘Hamlet’ plates

Denmark’s Prince Hamlet sure had a lot on his plate! He is stressed by his mother’s hasty remarriage, the appearance of his father’s ghost, his girlfriend breaking up with him, the threatened invasion by Norway and so much more. While studying the Shakespeare play “Hamlet,” Colleen Driscoll’s AP Literature class at Kingsford High School made plates in which each food represented a stress in Hamlet’s life. They also had to explain to the class how the food was representative and how big the portion was. The stress is truly the basis for the entire play, and the project encapsulates the problems young Hamlet is facing. From left with their plates, now on display in the library, in front are Petra Kaad, Sierra Scott, Abby Przeslakowski, Alex Ryan, Taylor Koski and Zoey Mellon; in back are Gavin Trevillian, Ben Fornetti, Clara Anderson, Addyson Shogren, Sammie Wilson and Lyric Adams.

Starting at $2.99/week.
