Northwood Geology Club sets first meeting of the year
FLORENCE, Wis. — The Northwoods Geology Club will begin their 2025 meetings starting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Meetings are on the fourth Wednesday of the month at the Florence Natural Resource Center, 5638 Forestry Drive in Florence. Those attending should use the back parking lot and enter into the lower level. Meetings take place April through October.
The club was formed in 2008 by people who have an interest in rocks and minerals. Potential new members are always welcome.
The club does not have an annual membership fee but does appreciate donations at the meetings. Door prizes are drawn for at the close of our meetings and snacks are usually available.
For updates and interesting geology-related information, go online to the Northwoods Geology Facebook page.
At the April meeting, Rob Grabarcqyk will provide a presentation on metal detectors and detecting. Attendees can bring their own detectors if they have one.
Also, the club will be planning field trips. Those who attend are asked to come with ideas so the club can put them in the schedule.
