Awarded DAR certificates

At a recent monthly National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Onagomingkway chapter meeting at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain, anniversary certificates were presented to two members by Regent Melissa Wilson, center, of Marquette. Alex Kirsenlohr, left, of Kingsford received her 10-year anniversary certificate as a member of the national DAR, while her sister, Vicky Kaplewski, right, of Florence, Wis., received hers for 20 years of membership. Both women trace their lineage back to Selah Sage, a private from Massachusetts who fought in the American Revolution. The Onagomingkway Chapter is based in Marquette and serves the western portion of the Upper Peninsula with patriotic, educational and historical preservation projects. NSDAR was founded in 1892, and the Onagomingkway Chapter celebrates 20 years of service this month.
