IRON RIVER — The Iron County Genealogical Society will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday in the J. Patrick White Conference Room at the West Iron District Library.

The group will host The Automatons, who will share their journey in robotics. The Automatons are a FIRST — For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology — Robotics team based in Iron River.

Founded in 2019, the team is open to high school students who are homeschooled or attend public schools in Iron County.

In both the 2024 and 2025 seasons, the Automatons earned enough district points to qualify for the state championships — a significant achievement that highlights their hard work, creativity and teamwork.

Now, they’re excited to share their experience in building, programming and competing in the world of robotics.
