Student artists honored

The Art Student Association met May 8 at the Chippewa Club for the fifth and final Artist of the Month luncheon of the 2024-25 school year. They were joined by Sweet Memories Farm of Iron River for a needle felting activity. It was run by Clare Tomasoski and Bonnie Jewell, who walked the young artists through needle felting and all the supplies that go with it. The art teachers of ASA — Sarah Western, Kingsford; Kristin Stanchina, Iron Mountain; Jen Hougaard, Niagara, Wis.; Katie Dahlman, Norway; Brenda Smeaton, Pembine, Wis.; Kelli Ellis, Florence, Wis.; Alisa Porier, West Iron County; Miranda Johnson, Goodman-Armstrong Creek, Wis.; and Johanna Johnson, Forest Park — would like to thank all of the local artists who made the luncheons special this year: Erica Land, Denise Eichinger, Sarah Rice, Stephen Wysocki, Clare Tomasoski and Bonnie Jewell. They would also like to thank the Chippewa Club for hosting the luncheons and any Chippewa Club members for donating to the ASA so they can continue to give local art students a special lunch to celebrate their talents. From left, student artists honored at the lunch included: in front, Eddie Chaperon, Kingsford; Grace Schiltz, Norway; and Lauryn Dwight, Goodman-Armstrong Creek; in back, Lily Soderberg, Florence; Fynnly Ketola, Forest Park; Emma Bouchard, Iron Mountain; Grace House, West Iron County; and Riece Casagranda, Niagara.

Starting at $4.00/week.
