CJo and The Groove play Thursday

CJO AND THE GROOVE

NORWAY — Music in the Park free summertime music series continues at 7 p.m. Thursday at the bandshell in downtown Norway with a performance by CJo and the Groove Show.

CJo is Carolyn Jo Weber, and she’s been at Music in the Park previously with full bands such as Carolyn Jo and Company, The Nicolet Dropouts and CJo & Trev. Weber’s rock-solid, belting voice brings a power listeners won’t soon forget. Carolyn Jo — along with Trevor Moore, guitar; Rich Hendrick, bass; and Lindsey Martin, drums/percussion — will deliver energetic treatments of many favorites across 50 decades of rock, blues and pop. They’re sure to bring a fun show to the band shell and organizers hope to have another great audience present to hear their performance.

It was an unusually cool and breezy start to the 2025 season, with a faithful and appreciative audience enjoyed a wonderful performance by Flagship Romance, a husband and wife duo.

“We hope folks that come into Iron Mountain for this week’s Out to Lunch concert, also featuring CJo and The Groove Show, will enjoy the afternoon, have a nice dinner in the area and come on down to beautiful bandshell park for an extended offering from this great band. It’s our second free performance of this summer’s fabulous series,” event coordinator Carol Sundstrom said.

Some seating is available at the shell but those taking in the performances can bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the music. Again this year, Main Street from Eighth to Ninth streets will be blocked off for more seating space.

Restrooms will be available in the upper level of City Hall, which will be open for each performance. For additional information, see Music in the Park on Facebook at www.facebook.com/Norway-Music-In-The-Park.

In case of inclement weather, concerts will be at the Crossroads Church (Grace Methodist/Bethany Lutheran) on Odill Drive, behind the Norway Historical Museum on the east edge of Norway.
