Ozark Mountain Daredevils on final tour in the U.P.

Tickets still available for July 11 show at Crystal Theatre

The Ozark Mountain Daredevils will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, July 11, at the Crystal Theatre in Crystal Falls. Tickets are still available.

CRYSTAL FALLS — Tickets are still available for The Ozark Mountain Daredevils’ “When it Shines — the Final Tour” concert at 7 p.m. Friday, July 11, at Crystal Theatre in Crystal Falls.

The popular band of the ’70s and ’80s is widely known for the singles “If You Wanna Get to Heaven” and “Jackie Blue.”

Two of the founding members, John Dillon and Michael Supe Granda, are still touring with the band.

In 2022, the group celebrated its 50th year anniversary, making their Grand Ole Opry debut in Nashville as part of the Time Warp Tour.

A documentary, “Ozark Mountain Daredevils Backstage,” was broadcast on PBS Television.

The Daredevils have released a number of major label and independent record label recordings, and have traveled millions of miles performing throughout North America and Europe.

The group still attracts and maintains a loyal and dedicated fan base throughout the world.

“When the Daredevils announced their final tour they approached Crystal Theatre about being a part of music history,” Crystal Theater Manager Kristin Underhill said. “The band enjoyed Crystal Falls’ hospitality in 2023 and couldn’t wait to come back. This is a big honor not only for Crystal Theatre and Crystal Falls, but also for the U.P.”

This performance is expected to sell out, she said.

All seats are reserved. Tickets can be purchased online at thecrystaltheatre.org or by phone at 906-875-3208.

“You’re invited to ‘Chicken Train’ with the legendary band one last time,” Underhill said.
