The UPPAA provides educational programming and events year-round, both in-person and via Zoom. Some of their flagship programs include the youth initiatives such as the Dandelion Cottage Short Story Contest and the Young Writers Storytelling Workshop. For adults, the U.P. Notable Books Club provides a monthly opportunity to meet authors via Zoom and ask them about their stories and writing process.

The U.P. Reader provides an outlet for both youth and adult writers to showcase their works, which typically include poetry, short stories, memoir and humor, among several genres.

Whether published or not, all writers and even those who haven’t yet begun writing are encouraged to join the UPPAA to pursue their literary dreams. For more information, go to www.UPPAA.org/join-or-renew.
