Children’s event with art activities at Harmony Arboretum
MARINETTE, Wis. — The Northern Lights Master Gardeners Association will present a free children’s art event from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Harmony Arboretum.
Children age 10 and younger are invited to a “creative” morning featuring six different “Art Stations.”
Kids will be able to make and take home a wind spinner, bookmark, bird feeder and several painting projects. Break time will feature a “show and share” and snacks.
This is the second of three free children’s events at Harmony this summer. The final event will be on Aug. 23 with Making Seed Bombs. In this fun project, children will mix up native plant seeds with a paste and form it into balls that, when dry, can be thrown out into their yard — or elsewhere — where the plants will grow next spring.
While at Harmony Arboretum, children and adults can take advantage of exploring the Children’s Learning Garden or admire the demonstration gardens, the herb and fragrance garden, the prairie and Harmony hardwoods.
The facility is 7 miles west of Marinette on Highway 64 or 10.5 miles from U.S. 141 on Highway 64, then a half mile south on County E.
Harmony Arboretum is a 495-acre former “county farm” that has been developed into a conservation and horticulture education and demonstration area. It is always open to the public and free.
