FLORENCE, Wis. — The Northwoods Geology Club will meet Wednesday, July 30, in the lower level of the Florence Natural Resource Center in Florence.

A brief meeting at 5:30 p.m. will be followed by the main event at 6 p.m.

Two professional archeologists — Kevin Akemann, formerly of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee archeology department, and Ryan Howell, lead archeologist for the U.S. Army at Fort McCoy in Wisconsin — will head up the program. The Wild Rivers Interpretive Center and the Florence County Historical Society played a large part in organizing the special event.

After the program, the archeologists will be available to help in identifying any artifacts.

The public is encouraged to attend.
