FLORENCE, Wis. — The Florence County Health Department will offer introductory and moderate-level golf lessons on Tuesdays starting this week through most of September.

The first two classes will be at the soccer field at the Florence County Fairgrounds and second two at a local golf course.

The classes will start at 9 a.m. and last an hour on Tuesdays, beginning tomorrow and continuing on Aug. 26, Sept. 2 and Sept. 23. Dates are weather permitting.

These classes are for ages 15 and older. Basic golf clubs and balls can be provided if needed.

Class size is limited to a maximum of eight and is on a first-come, first-served basis. A donation of $5 per class is encouraged to support supplies for the program going forward.

Golf is a sport that encourages lifelong physical activity for a variety of ages. To sign up, call the public health nurse Sidnie Graff at the Florence County Health Department at 715-528-3427.

The health department is open Monday through Thursday and by appointment on the second floor of the Florence County Courthouse, 501 Lake Ave. in Florence.
