‘Color Our World’ week activities planned at CF library

CRYSTAL FALLS — The Crystal Falls District Community Library will have “Fiber Art and Wearables” week starting Monday and continuing through Saturday, Aug. 9.

This is the sixth week of the “Color Our World” Summer Reading Program for 2025.

Story hours for kids of all ages for the week are:

— Babies: 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, “Buttons,” “Monster Clothes” and “Tokyo: A Book of Senses.”

— Toddlers: 1 p.m. Wednesday, “A Dupatta is …,” “Very Good Hats,” “A Garden in My Hands” and “Parker Dresses Up.”

— Pre-school: 2 p.m. Wednesday, “The Gabi That Girma Wore,” “A Garden in My Hands,” “Dress-Up Day” and “Patchwork Prince.”

— Children 5-8: 1 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. Wednesday, “I Have a Superpower,” “I’m Growing Great” and “Me and the Boss.”

— Children 9-12: Tuesday 2 p.m. and 10 a.m. Wednesday, “Kids’ Ultimate Craft Book: Bead, Crochet, Knot, Braid, Knit and Sew,” “A Gift for Nai-Nai,” “Knitting for Dogs” and “The Legend of Iron Purl.”

A macrame class will be offered at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Teens and adults are invited to the library for a fun night to learn the art of how to macrame.

Participants will work on a macrame Christmas ornament, which you will be able to take home.

A family night is planned at 6 p.m. Friday. They will make Sharpie-dyed silk scarves or T-shirts. Participants will use Sharpie markers and rubbing alcohol to design an accessary as unique as they want. Those who would rather make a T-shirt is asked to bring a white cotton shirt to decorate.
