Doughman — 50th wedding anniversary

IRON MOUNTAIN — Connie (LaFleur) and Mike Doughman, formerly of Iron Mountain, celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary today.

The couple married on Aug. 2, 1975, at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford, by the Rev. John Hughes. Attendants were the bride’s sisters, Karen Burrell and Ricki Terzis; and the groom’s brothers, Dean and David Doughman.

Connie is the daughter of the late Lane and Eva LaFleur, and Mike is the son of the late Gladwin and Joan Doughman, all of Iron Mountain.

They have three children and five grandchildren, Danielle Doughman (Theo), Joey Herring (Ashton, Brooks, and Gavin), and Toni Burdette (Beckitt).

Mike and Connie met in grade school at American Martyrs, where Mike’s mother Joan was a teacher.

Since their wedding, they have lived in Wisconsin, Florida and, for the past 35 years, Georgia, near two of their daughters and four of their grandsons.
