Making ‘seed bombs’ at Harmony Arboretum
MARINETTE, Wis. – Northern Lights Master Gardeners Association Inc. will present a free children’s program on making “seed bombs” from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Harmony Arboretum.
Children will mix native plant seeds with a paste and form it into balls that, when dry, can be thrown out into their yard — or elsewhere — where the native plants will grow next spring.
This is the final of three free children’s events the arboretum has hosted this summer.
While at arboretum, children and adults can take advantage of exploring the Children’s Learning Garden or admiring the demonstration gardens, the herb and fragrance garden, the prairie and Harmony hardwoods.
Harmony Arboretum is a 495-acre former “county farm” that has been developed into a conservation and horticulture education and demonstration area. It is always open to the public and free.
The site is 7 miles west of Marinette on Highway 64; or 10.5 miles from U.S. 141 on Highway 64, then 0.5 miles south on County E.
