Florence parishes to observe World Communion Sunday

FLORENCE, Wis. — The churches of the Florence Parish will observe World Communion Sunday this Sunday.

They invite the community to join them in sharing in Holy Communion with millions of Christians around the world on that same day. The Rev. Rell Spickerman will lead worship at 8 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Florence and 9:15 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Florence.

World Communion Sunday began in 1933, as an idea to promote Christian unity, to emphasize the importance of the Church of Christ, and to connect believers around the world while partaking of the bread and wine or juice of Communion. It has become a special Sunday around the globe.

Everyone is welcome to a fellowship and refreshments after the service.

Starting at $3.50/week.
