GFWC sets meeting for November, December
IRON MOUNTAIN — The Iron Mountain-Kingsford General Federation of Women’s Clubs has announced the regular November and December meetings will be at the Chippewa Club in Iron Mountain.
Members are to note the change in location of the regular meeting at Pine Grove Country Club.
The Nov. 7 meeting will honor area women veterans. Mary Stolze will present a review of the first women’s U.P. Honor Flight.
The noon gathering will offer a traditional turkey dinner. Reservations can be made by called, texted or e-mailed to Joyel Brule at 906-282-0650 or with the club caller who will contact members. Cost of the luncheon is $35. Reservations must be received by Monday, Oct. 27.
Members are reminded the club’s “Clothing for Warmth” project will be collecting member donations for the worthy program. The hats, mittens and gloves collected will be donated to the two local elementary schools for distribution to the young children in need of proper clothing for the cold months. Everyone is encouraged to be generous.
The Dec. 5 regular meeting will be the Christmas party. Members are encouraged to invited a friend to join for the special Christmas dinner and celebration. Attendees can join in the fun of the ornament/Christmas item exchange, raffles, 50-50, and music. The Iron Mountain High School Choral group will also entertain the members with musical selections.
