IRON MOUNTAIN — The Iron Mountain-Kingsford General Federation of Women’s Clubs will conduct a food drive Monday through Saturday, Oct. 11.
This year, local banks have offered to be a drop-off site the week before the drive-through event, which will provide the opportunity for added success.
Non-perishable food items can be brought during regular business hours Monday through Friday in the lobby of First Bank, IncredibleBank and First National Bank & Trust.
The “Drive Through Collection Event” will take place from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 11, in the downtown public parking lot between Hughitt and A Streets, behind Antonio’s in Iron Mountain.
Club members will be parked with their trunks open ready to accept donated food items.
Everyone is asked to make sure the expiration date is currently valid on food items.
All donations will be given to the St. Vincent de Paul and Salvation Army food pantries.
The community is asked to consider helping club volunteers to make this a huge success.
