Alyssa dela Cruz

NORWAY — Norway High School senior Alyssa dela Cruz, the daughter of Kristen Ball and Michael dela Cruz of Norway, has been selected by the faculty as the nominee for the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Program.

The DAR Good Citizenship Award is presented to one student based on the qualities of dependability, leadership and patriotism — dela Cruz has all of these qualities and more. She is an outstanding student, club member and role model.

Dela Cruz is a member of YAC, Key Club, LEO Club, student council, National Honor Society, and has been volunteering for the Red Cross blood drives since she was a freshman. She also participates in volleyball and is an avid member of 4-H.

“Alyssa is very organized and dependable and responsible. She is a positive role model and leader, often the first one to offer to help. She takes pride in her community by prioritizing service to others,” Key Club advisor Sarah Freiberg said.
