IRON MOUNTAIN — The Braumart in Iron Mountain will show the Warren Miller ski movie “Sno-ciety” on Monday, hosted by the Pine Mountain and the Norway High School ski teams.
Doors open at 6 p.m. for social hour, with the movie starting at 7 p.m.
Warren Miller Entertainment production company is considered an icon in the ski industry. Many would recognize clips from his movies over the past 76 years — either a comical clips on skis or a dangerous descent down a mountain. The movies highlight the beauty of the snow-covered mountains as well as showcasing the best extreme skiers in the world. Each year they produce a new unique feature-length film that the local ski teams have been able to secure rights to show for the past two years and again this season.
“We are lucky to be a showcase for the upcoming premier again this year. The last two movies have been fun to watch and our local self-funded ski teams benefit from the money raised,” according to a spokesperson.
All movie attendees are automatically entered in a drawing for door prizes from local businesses to be handed out at the start of the movie.
Tickets are $12 each and can be purchased at the door and ahead of time at the Braumart website, www.thebraumart.org, or at the Pine Mountain Sport Shop at the Pine Mountain Resort.
